The Devision of Gravity

Mar 07

We learn. In all relationshops, at some point in our lives we learn. We learn that company doesn’t mean security. We learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises. We learn that futures have a way of falling in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your garden and decorate your soul instead of waiting for someone else to bring you flowers.

And then sometimes, we learn to love. Appropriately. We learn that love needs to be sincere and intelligent. Not sentimental gush. We learn that perhaps their is a way for relationships to outlast differences.

But what you learn in the one relationship will determine the success of the next ones.

May you be inspired [to learn to love appropriately]

Curiosity

Feb 13

curiosity: 1. a strong desire to know or learn something
                    2. an emotion related to natural inquisitive behavior such as exploration, investigation, and learning

Curiosity is beautiful. It tend to make life seem new and fresh. We see things we have never seen before. We discover. We get surprises. We get a new sense of life.

But we are not curious because so many times we are afraid of what we might discover.

Fear is a curiosity killer.

Just be curious anyway.

Run a new route. Make new friends. Study something different. Completely different. Visit a place you have never visit before. Walk into a weird shop. Paint. Make a home video. Whatever you think might trigger a greater sense of curiosity.

May you be inspired [to be curious]

Just Do It!

Dec 08

One of my friends asked me a while ago what makes me a go-getter? What drives me? What makes me go out and live?

I couldn’t answer him…

Why is it that some people are really driven in life and others not? And it kind of reflect in their lives. Some are out there doing stuff. Others not. Some take on challenges that could kill them. Emotionally. Physically. Mentally. Others don’t.

For very long I have seen myself as the latter group. And at times I still do.

But lately I have started to realize something. The longer I wait for the future, the shorter it will become.

Nike is right when it says, just do it. There are some things in life that you should just do. Not fearing. Not worrying. Not compromising.

2 Days ago, I did something I was afraid to do for so long. I entered for one of the toughest trail races in South Africa. The Otter Trail Run. It’s not called the grail of trail for nothing.

Before this, I was constantly driven by fear. Fear of lack of finances. Fear of time constraints. Fear of greatness…

But I did it.

And it feels good. Fulfilling. It feels like I have broke through my own iron curtain.

What’s the one thing in your life you know you need to do but is still waiting for the right time…?

May you be inspired [to just do it]

me.
