After all the drama with the Spear painting of President Jacob Zuma, someone wrote a very striking article about South Africa and our ever-continuing struggle with racism.

It made me think whether we will ever become the utopian unified Rainbow Nation that we so proudly use to market our country. It made me think of the origins of racism and whether we really understand the problem.

Then I thought of this quote:

“The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” Albert Einstein

The heart of racism in South Africa was created in the Apartheids regime, 15 years ago, at a certain level of thinking. That heart was, and still is, that our country can be ruled and governed through position. It cant! It has been proven over and over again.

We have seen it in the Apartheids regime and we have seen it in the new South Africa as well. Governing through position creates inequality; one of the main culprits to racism.

The solution to the problem? Well, for a truly new South Africa we need a new level of thinking.

This new level of thinking is a post on it’s own, but essentially we need to realize and live a life where we own nothing. Nothing. It is not our right to have a job. A beautiful house. A nice car. A beautiful city. Or whatever… [Myles Munroe has done some extensive work on Kingdom principles. YouTube or Google it.]

Once we realize this one fundamental principle that we own nothing, that God [jip, there’s the God word…] owns everything, racism would vanish in thin air. Over time. We wont be bothered if our houses our broken into, our cars are written off because of taxi drivers or littered cityscapes. We don’t own it in any way.

Is this easy? Absolutely not! I’m the one who needs the greatest revelation on this. But it is possible. That is why grace is part of this Kingdom. Grace goes along way. It has come along way in South Africa.

The true path to a new South Africa would be paved if individuals can stop thinking that they own anything and start believing that God owns everything.

“Therefore, seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all the other things will be added to you as well.” Mat 6:33

Perhaps other things refer to a new South Africa as well…

Just imagine if God was right all the time…
